Privacy Policy
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 12, 2026
At PrintPartPicker.com (“PrintPartPicker”, “we”, “us”, or “our”), we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting any personal information collected through our website. This Privacy Policy details the types of information we collect, how it is used, and your choices regarding data retention.
1. Information We Collect
- Anonymous Build Configuration Data: When you use the Build Planner or Comparison Matrix, configuration states are stored locally in your browser’s
localStorage. If you explicitly choose to generate a shareable build link, the selected component identifiers and custom build title are stored on our database server and assigned an anonymous unique hash code. No personal identifying information is attached to saved builds. - Inquiry & Contact Data: If you voluntarily contact us via email (contact@printpartpicker.com) or our web feedback form, we collect your name, email address, and message contents solely to respond to your communication.
- Technical Logs & Server Analytics: Like most web platforms, our web server logs standard connection parameters including IP address, browser user-agent, referring URL, and access timestamps to ensure site security, prevent DDoS attacks, and diagnose infrastructure errors.
2. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
PrintPartPicker utilizes cookies and local browser storage to provide core platform functionality:
- Functional Cookies: Preserve your user preferences, such as Dark Mode / Light Mode toggle state and active comparison matrix selections.
- Analytical Cookies: Anonymized traffic measurement to understand which tools, calculators, and product categories are most useful to the community.
- Advertising & Third-Party Cookies: We may display non-intrusive advertisements served through Google AdSense. Google and third-party advertising partners may use cookies to serve relevant ads based on prior visits to our site or other websites. You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings (google.com/settings/ads).
3. Affiliate Referral Tracking
PrintPartPicker links to verified third-party retailers (such as Amazon and AliExpress). Clicking an affiliate link appends an anonymized partner tracking identifier (e.g., tracking ID or tag) to the destination URL. This tracking is managed directly by the merchant’s network to credit referral commissions and does not expose your personal payment information or identity to PrintPartPicker.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell, rent, monetize, or trade your personal data to third parties. We only share data with service providers when strictly necessary to operate our infrastructure (e.g., hosting providers and security monitoring systems) or where required by law.
5. User Data Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (such as under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data we retain (e.g., contact form correspondence). To exercise any applicable privacy rights, please contact our privacy coordinator at contact@printpartpicker.com.
